Talks and Dialogue Facilitation

I pride myself on being a dynamic, knowledgeable, balanced, and engaging speaker and dialogue facilitator. I have extensive experience explaining and leading discussion on complex and sensitive issues in a clear, constructive, and empathetic fashion. I believe in the importance of deeply engaging with all perspectives in my research and presentations.

I have given talks on my research at universities and think tanks, delivered policy briefs on Capitol Hill, and led lectures and engaging discussions with business and community groups, including Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, social and debate clubs, libraries, Israeli-Palestinian entrepreneurship organizations, and religious institutions. In addition to speaking about my books, articles, and other projects on this website, I regularly deliver talks and facilitate group discussion on the following topics:

  • How to Have a Constructive Conversation about Israel and Palestine: Based on my current book project, I focus on my experience teaching classes and leading facilitations with Israelis, Palestinians, and Americans to explain how even those who disagree can have a constructive discussion about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  • The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: The history of Zionism, Palestinian nationalism, and the current conflict in Gaza

  • U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East: Explaining the past, past, and future of U.S. policy in the region

  • Extremism in America: The rise of domestic extremism in the U.S. and how communities and the government can work to defeat it

  • The Challenge of Terrorism: The causes, tactics, and effects of terrorism and what can be done to counter it, both in the U.S. and abroad

  • Building Peace: How communities facing conflict can work to build peace, from the grassroots to the political leadership

I love giving talks and engaging in dialogue with new groups, and I will ensure that the discussion is accessible, fair, and engaging regardless of the audience's background. Please contact me if you are interested in having me speak or facilitate discussion with your organization.
